About Isaac Acher Melamed

Isaac is a Panamanian journalist, activist, and artist based in Bogotá, Colombia. He studied Communications and holds a Master’s degree in Gender Studies from Universidad de los Andes. His work focuses on youth-led advocacy, HIV, drug policy, harm reduction, and human rights across Latin America. As a journalist, he has worked with media outlets in Panama. As an activist, he served as Regional Coordinator of the Latin American Network of Young People Living with HIV (J+LAC) and Regional Technical Coordinator for the ALEP+PC project. He is also a singer-songwriter and podcaster, and is interested in the intersections between art, the body, emotions, and politics. Ever since moving to Colombia, he drinks his coffee black and without sugar.
