Dear youth, activist friends and colleagues,

Keep an eye out on our social media for the next opportunity to join our International Working Group (we usually open up applications at the start of the year). If you are interested in engaging in the work of Youth RISE, you can contact our Management Team.

Our International Working Group (IWG) brings together around 30 young advocates and young people who use drugs from around the world. The group works together to represent their local and regional communities of young people who use drugs and other young key populations in the international drug policy arena, promoting evidence-based drug policies for youth, and contributing their skills and knowledge to network strengthening.

As a member of the International Working Group, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other passionate and dedicated young people worldwide. You will be involved in shaping the strategic direction of Youth RISE and will have the opportunity to support the development and implementation of campaigns and projects to advance our mission.

A likely candidate to join our IWG is:

  • Between the ages of 18 and 30 years old
  • Passionate about drug policy reform and advocating for the rights of people who use drugs
  • Able to commit at least 5 hours per week to Youth RISE activities
  • Committed to working in a collaborative and inclusive manner
  • Well-versed in working in a predominantly online environment
  • Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)

A likely candidate should be able to dedicate time and energy to teamwork, have knowledge and some experience in the drug policy field, and implement tasks independently. More information on the role of an IWG member can be found in the Terms of Reference here: IWG Terms of Reference.

Youth RISE is an equal opportunities organization that promotes diversity, and as such, we encourage members of all key affected populations to apply. We welcome and prioritise applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds, including people who use drugs, people from underrepresented communities, and people from the global south.

Kind regards,

Youth RISE Management Team
