About Claire Perry

Claire Perry is a Youth Engagement Specialist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Grief & Trauma Clinician at Mount Sinai Hospital, Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto, Youth Advisor of the Mental Health and Climate Change Alliance, and a part of Public Health Agency of Canada’s (PHAC’s) Suicide Prevention Roster of Experts. In her Youth Engagement Specialist role she ensures that projects, services, and initiatives reflect the lived experiences of youth living with mental health and substance use challenges. As a Grief & Trauma Clinician, she works in the practice area of reproductive mental health, offering mental health and substance use counselling services to service users during the reproductive and/or perinatal life stages. Claire wants to explore, create, and disseminate more knowledge regarding harm reduction and drug policy in regards to Black youth, young parents in various reproductive and perinatal life cycles, young justice-impacted individuals, highly stigmatized substances, and the impacts of stigma on international policy development and advocacy. Outside of work, she loves reading non-fiction, drinking bubble tea (always regular sugar, less ice), and pomeranian-spotting in downtown Toronto parks.
