Camila is a social communicator and activist with over 10 years of experience working with women, LGBTIQ+ people, and people who use drugs in her country, with a focus on her hometown of Callao, Peru’s main port city, which has the highest homicide rate and is infamous and unfairly stigmatized for its association with drugs and crime, with many young people trapped in unnecessary cycles of violence.
She volunteers with the risk reduction program at Proyecto Soma, a Peruvian NGO focused on drug policy reform, harm reduction, and communications, assisting with their drug testing initiatives. She deeply believes in the possibility of building a fairer, more humane, and dignified world for everyone.
