Youth RISE looks for a consultant to conduct a multimedia content creation workshop to equip our International Working Group members and partners. 

Background: 

Youth RISE is a network of young people from around the world working in harm reduction and drug policy reform advocacy. Youth RISE mobilizes youth to be engaged in Full Spectrum Harm Reduction and drug policy reform to promote health and human rights. We envision a world where youth are valued, active partners in the political process on local, regional, and international levels. 

Online platforms are flooded these days with resources, informative content and campaigns translated into very creative and assertive videos, reels, posts and memes to help drive actions to strengthen social movements and ideas. This is why we believe it is essential to acquire key tools like video editing, photo editing, graphic design softwares, not only through a self-taught way, like watching tutorials on YouTube, but in safe, collaborative spaces with other peers and experts in order to create and test these multimedia content creation resources and use them in advocacy strategies for young people.

Scope of Work: 

Youth RISE requires a consultant to carry out a multimedia content creation workshop which seeks to give our International Working Group members and partners a scope of the multimedia tools that they can utilize to design campaigns or any other forms of virtual activism for social media. 

Tasks:

  • Design the workshop content to be reviewed by Youth RISE management;
  • Conduct the workshop;
  • Communicate the results of the workshop to Youth RISE management.

Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Proven experience in commanding multimedia content creation tools/ graphic designing/ social media campaigns or virtual activism;
  • Proven experience in conducting workshops for peer workers and young people in an online format;
  • Good command of the English language; 
  • Experience working with Young People Who Use Drugs and other young Inadequately Served Populations.

Preferable Skills and Experience: 

  • Knowledge and understanding of Youth RISE’s work; 
  • Experience working with Youth RISE or other civil society organizations; 
  • Experience and knowledge of drug policy, harm reduction, HIV and related intersectional issues.

Timeframe and Budget: 

  • This is a consultant contract, and the ‘consultancy fee’ is USD 2,000 in total. 
  • This consultant is expected to carry out the assignment during August and September 2023.
