Rebeca Calzada holds a master’s degree in Politics and Society from Maastricht University, NL. She worked as a harm reduction and drug policy reform activist in the Mexican CSO ‘Espolea’. One of her first international training was by Youth RISE in 2014. Later on, she joined the Drug Policy Program of the Centre for Research and Teaching in Economics, where she has taken part in different research projects such as cannabis regulation, harm reduction interventions in high schools, the analysis of military operations in the context of the war on drugs in Mexico, COVID-19 and its impact in prisons, among others. Rebeca also worked as a program manager in a project on prevention and harm reduction for young people at the CSO ‘México Unido Contra la Delincuencia’.
