Youth RISE Africa Regional Youth Development meeting held on August 13th in Abuja, Nigeria opened up a dialogue space that has for many years have remained shut. CrowdOutAIDS is UNAIDS Secretariat’s online strategy development project on engagement of young people in the AIDS response. So far they have engaged some 5 000 young people in online and offline Open Forums, with participants from more than 85 countries. It is the first time in UN history that a strategy is built using crowdsourcing technology and social media tools.
As we remember the harms we have experienced globally by the HIV epidemic over the past 30 years, it is important that we do not forget the impact this epidemic has had on young people who use drugs. Read more about Youth RISE video for World AIDS Day
CrowdOutAIDS is a collaborative online project to develop a new way for UNAIDS to work with young people. It uses online tools to help young people come together to crowdsource a UNAIDS youth strategy on HIV. Read more about CrowdOutAIDS
